Hunter Markets started as a much-loved pre-loved clothing market in a converted warehouse in Melbourne. Together with the Hunter Markets and Dilate teams, I designed and built the app that takes it everywhere.
The brief
Hunter Markets had already built a loyal community around second-hand fashion and keeping clothes out of landfill. The goal was to give that community a place to buy and sell between market days, without losing the social, treasure-hunt feel of the real thing.
What we built
A social marketplace app for iOS and Android: listings that feel like browsing a rack, simple selling, and a design that puts the clothes first. I led the design and development alongside the Hunter Markets and Dilate teams.
Launch week
We launched with Sopha Dopha selling her wardrobe for charity, and somehow our little indie app shot to #5 in Shopping on the Australian App Store almost overnight. Pretty surreal.
