UI/UX DesignWeb Development
Don't Choose Extinction was the UNDP's global climate campaign, fronted by Frankie the dinosaur addressing the UN General Assembly. I worked on the UI/UX and web development of the World of Excuses, the digital experience that moved people from watching to acting.
The campaign
Launched ahead of COP26, the campaign starred Frankie, a CGI dinosaur voiced by Jack Black, who walks into the UN General Assembly to warn humanity not to choose extinction. It was co-created by Activista, Wunderman Thompson Australia, Framestore and Mindpool.
The World of Excuses
The film got attention. The website had to turn attention into action. We pictured every excuse for climate inaction as an asteroid threatening Earth. Click one and it opens up with the facts, and with something you can actually do about it.
Recognition
The campaign earned four Cannes Lions nominations, a D&AD 2022 Impact award and a Shorty Impact Silver Honor.
