Backwards Ass News — from Ozz.fm

I realise I’m stating the obvious, but reading the news these days is so damn depressing.
And yet — like some sick daily ritual — we keep doing it.
Scrolling, clicking, swallowing headlines like bitter pills.
So I decided to flip the script. Literally.
I built a new segment for Ozz.fm, my half-mad hobby radio project, where I programmed my news commentator to read today’s headlines backwards.
All generated live, straight from the firehose.
Why? Because the news is backwards.
It’s all doom, all gloom... totally upside-down.
And maybe, just maybe, hearing it in reverse might reveal the madness for what it really is.
So I call it: Backwards Ass News.
This morning, on my drive to work, I fired it up. No plan. No filters. Just pure chaos.
And what came out of the speakers… honestly left me speechless.
When you strip away structure…when the words start falling out of order… they stop being sentences and start being symptoms.
Each one lands heavier.
Each one demands to be seen.
You can feel the negativity, how it infects the air. It’s like holding a mirror up to the collective anxiety of a world gone sideways.
This is the language we feed ourselves every day.
So is it any wonder we’re all convinced the world’s on fire?
Maybe it’s time to turn the volume down on the doom,
and turn the art back up.
Here’s the first outtake of the segment. I’d love to know what you think.
(Disclaimer: The views expressed by “Dave the Rave” are entirely experimental and generated live by AI. While I’ve trained the personality, it decides what to say, how to say it — and what to play next. Wait till the end of the clip. The track he picked after those backwards headlines? Perfect choice. Almost too perfect.)

If you wait until the end of the video, you’ll hear what it chose to play next (after those backwards ass headlines). And I gotta hand it to Dave, nice choice going with that tune.
